Ethernet Expansion I/O
|
The
BXi/o provides a powerful and cost effective method to expand
the analog and discrete I/O capabilities of the BX Controller.
The BXi/o module communicates with the controller via a
100MBit Ethernet network providing a robust, high speed,
distributed control architecture. I/O modules are available
in a full range of discrete, and analog "building blocks"
allowing for easy customization of unique control systems.
The entire BXi/o system is designed to minimize I/O hardware,
installation and maintenance costs.

The BXi/o
system offers a unique method of providing flexible, modular
I/O expansion, eliminating the traditional I/O rack backplane.
Each I/O "rack" consists of the following components:
- A BXi/o
power supply, available in both 120/240 VAC and 24 VDC input
options. This component supplies the necessary power for
communications and control electronics.
- A BXi/o
Ethernet network interface module (EIU). This component
enables communications with the high-performance, Ethernet
based BX motion-and-machine control network.
- One
or more carrier modules. These modules plug into the system
as needed, to provide a flexible, configurable interface
for each I/O module added to the "rack".
- One
or more I/O modules, as needed. Each I/O module plugs into
the associated carrier module. The carrier module determines
the specific orientation of the I/O module, and the physical
interface option.
