Continuous Flow Web Converting
BERKELEY DELIVERS POWERFUL MACHINE CONTROLLERS TO REFLEXITE
TO ENABLE NEW WEB CONVERTING APPLICATION
RICHMOND, Calif., September 12, 2002 - Berkeley Process Control, Inc. (Berkeley) announced today that it has delivered its new BX2™ motion-and-machine controllers to Avon, CT-based Reflexite, a manufacturer of light management products including reflective products and lighting, display, and instrumentation optics. The Ethernet networked BX2 controllers will be used to precisely synchronize the motion of 16 machine axes and more than one hundred I/O points in a new, continuous flow web converting system producing specialty microstructured web material. Berkeley is providing integration support.
The BX2 is the latest in a series of highly pre-integrated, yet compact, motion-and-machine controllers featuring internally powered drives and Ethernet network connectivity. Relative to its predecessor, the BXi, Berkeley's BX2 adds twice the drive power, plus the ability to servo control brushless AC direct drive motors.
